DAY 1 21 AUGUST: WELCOME TO CAIRNS (D)

Arrive at your accommodation in Cairns, and tonight you will meet your tour leader, Lyn Carter and your fellow passengers at a ‘welcome dinner’.

DAY 2 - 22 AUGUST: CAIRNS - HORN ISLAND (BLD)

An early morning flight will take you to Horn Island. Today includes a tour of Horn Island and entry to the Torres Strait Heritage Museum. You will stay at the Gateway Torres Strait Resort at Horn Island.

DAY 3 | 23 AUGUST: THURSDAY ISLAND - CAPE YORK (D)

This morning you will be transferred by ferry to Thursday Island. On arrival, you will be taken on an informative guided bus tour of the island and its picturesque harbour, once home to the romantic pearl lugger fleet. This afternoon board your ferry to the mainland, where you will be met by your guide and head towards Seisia. Our accommodation for the next two nights is at Seisia Holiday Park, cottages with ensuite facilities.

DAY 4 | 24 AUGUST: CAPE YORK (BLD)

Today get ready for an unforgettable day. Stand at the very top of mainland Australia at Cape York before visiting Somerset (road conditions permitted), once the home of the legendary Jardine Family and government outpost established in 1864. We have lunch on the palm fringed Anchorage Beach, which overlooks the Albany Passage. A walk on the beach will complete your day before returning to Seisia.

DAY 5 | 25AUGUST: CAPE YORK - FRUIT BAT FALLS-BRAMWELL STATION (BLD)

Southward bound, we cross the mighty Jardine River, stopping at Fruit Bat Falls for lunch. Relax, swim and enjoy this unique area with its enchanting waterfall. We will travel along part of the Old Telegraph Track, before making our way to a ‘true blue’ Aussie cattle station, Bramwell Station, our home for the night.

DAY 6 | 26 AUGUST: BRAMWELL - WEIPA (BD)

A southerly run through the wilderness with all its varied landscapes to cross the Wenlock River. We head for the shores of the Gulf of Carpentaria and Weipa. This afternoon there will be the opportunity of a Wildlife Eco River Cruise or Bauxite Mine Tour (own expense). Your accommodation tonight has ensuite facilities.

DAY 7 | 27 AUGUST: WEIPA - MUSGRAVE (BLD)

We continue south, stopping off at the picturesque Archer River, then on to the historic frontier gold town of Coen. The afternoon finds us arriving at our overnight accommodation at the Old Musgrave Telegraph Station – ensuite facilities.

Passengers can choose between one or the other: Weipa Wildlife & Eco Cruise – A cruise, designed for the person who truly wants a unique experience and to engage and immerse themselves in our beautiful ecosystems and local culture of Weipa. The boat can seat 28 passengers with 2 crew and has a toilet for your convenience. Cruise the harbor, the Embley River to Hay Point and learn about the local culture, history and view the abundance of wildlife this area has to offer. The cruise takes approx. 1.5 hours and the price is $ 65.00 per person. Weipa Mine Tour – Find
out the history behind Weipa and visit points of interest on this fascinating tour. Get up close and personal to the 190 ton Belly Dumper Haul Trucks while touring then working mine site and follow the rail and conveyor dock. The tour takes approx. 2.5 hours and cost $ 45.00. No toilet breaks and covered footwear is required.

DAY 8 | 28 AUGUST: MUSGRAVE - LAKEFIELD NATIONAL PARK - COOKTOWN (BLD)

After an early start, we head east towards Princess Charlotte Bay here we explore Lakefield National Park (road conditions permitted), a haven for the many birds and animals native to this area. Lagoons, billabongs, and wide river lakes are home to both fresh and saltwater crocodiles. Travelling on, we visit Split Rock, Aboriginal Rock Art, before arriving in the old gold port of Cooktown, where we visit Captain Cooks Landing, before settling into our accommodation in Cooktown – ensuite facilities.

DAY 9 | 29 AUGUST: COOKTOWN - CAPE TRIBULATIONS - CAIRNS (BL)

DAY 10- 13 | 30 AUGUST– 02 SEPTEMBER: CAIRNS - FITZROY ISLAND (NO MEALS)

Today we take the ferry to Fitzroy Island. The next 3 nights are at your leisure on this beautiful island. Fitzroy Island is a continental island offshore from Cape Grafton, 29 km southeast of Cairns, Queensland, Australia. It is a locality in the Cairns Region. One of the most unspoiled islands on the Great Barrier Reef, the majority of Fitzroy Island is National Island Park – this includes mangroves, open woodland, tropical pristine rainforest and coral beaches with fringing coral reef best experienced by the walking trails around the island. Some of the activities in which you can participate while visiting Fitzroy Island include walking and hiking trails, snorkelling, swimming, sea kayaking, ocean trampoline, viewing the reef by glass bottom boat or simply relaxing to take it all in. DAY 14 | 02 SEPTEMBER: FAREWELL

Today we say goodbye to our fellow travelers where we take the ferry from our Island Paradise back to Cairns.
