Planning your very first trip to New York can be a daunting prospect. With so many things to see, and so little time, it’s difficult to know where to start. In a city that claims to have 90,000 hotel rooms, just choosing where to stay can be a daunting prospect in itself. If you are only in town for a few days and, here are a few tips to help you make the most out of your trip.

1. Central Park

Whether you choose to take a bike, Vespa, horse and carriage or gentle stroll through Central Park, its green meadows, sprawling waters, unique bridges and outstanding beauty are not to be missed. Its peace and tranquility offer the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of the city.

2. Rockefeller Centre

With its 3 viewing decks and a 360-degree city views, a visit to the Top of the Rock at the Rockefeller Center is a must. The sweeping views of Central Park and the city skyline are quite spectacular. Tours of the Rockefeller Center and NBC Studios are also available.

3. The Statue of liberty

Lady Liberty—or Liberty Enlightening the World, as she’s officially known—was a gift from France on America’s 100th birthday. A universal symbol of freedom, the copper-plated sentinel stands 305 feet tall from the bottom of her base to the tip of her torch.

4.  Times Square

It’s brash and it’s busy, but no trip to New York would be complete without a visit to Times Square. There are enough restaurants, bars, and shops to keep you entertained all day, but if you have an aversion to neon and noise, perhaps a stroll through on your way to a Broadway show might be your best option.

5. Broadway

 If you love big glitzy Broadway shows? Then NYC is the place for you and a must when you visit. Go to at least one during your trip. To get an idea of what’s on and popular vs. not popular, check out the Broadway grosses and look at the percentage of seats sold and average ticket price.

6. High Line

The High Line is a 2 km long green space that used to be an elevated railway line, but is now an art-filled public park. Extending alongside 10th Avenue from West 30th Street to Gansevoort Street in the Meatpacking District, the High Line gives you great views of the Empire State Building, the Chrysler Building and the Statue of Liberty.

7. Street Vendor

A true NYC experience must including eating and visiting the street vendors. There are as many as 20,000 street vendors in NYC, these include; hot dog & pretzel vendor (our personal favorite), flower vendors, t-shirt vendors, street artists, fancy food trucks, and many more.

8. 5th Avenue & SoHo

If shopping is a must, then you cant go past 5th Avenue and SoHo. Considered some of NYC prime shopping and dining destination if not the world.

9.  Crumbs Bake Shop

Located in Times Square, Magnolia’s Bakery is a must for those of us with a sweet tooth. A favourite with the local and tourist and offer cupcakes in 4 sizes, the taste size, which is a mini, a classic, a signature, and a colossal cupcake.

10.  Circle Line Cruise
